Help Caregiving and You/ Future Taxpayers of America bring a life-changing home office and library to low-income, NYC public school students and their families. Our packages include 10+ reference books, a laptop computer, a 3-shelf bookcase, test-taking materials, toys, a wireless mouse, an american flag and a printer (with cartridges). By donating funds, gently used books and computers to our program, we can feed the soul, mind and acute educational needs of our future taxpayers.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, our packages have helped students and their families:
first and foremost, learn academic and marketable career skills
get to know the sounds, words and language that encourage strong early literacy skills
establish a home environment conducive to learning
reduce/eliminate the need to borrow materials such as books and computers
develop their brain, ability to focus, concentrate, social and communication skills
develop an appreciation about their own cultural heritage and that of others;
develop emotional intelligence and creativity
nuture growth and development, spiritually and morally;
become empowered to empathize with others
and reduce stress, depression and anxiety
As we have learned over the course of this new initiative, the benefits and impact of our program are not just limited to the reasons we have listed above. Our program participants also experience respite from the stress of poverty and the problems of their home life, profound joy, laughter, excitement, a deeper sense of self and their environment, a newly inspired stake in their future and of course, the desire to come back to our program again. We are a nonprofit 501(c) 3 and all donations are fully tax deductible. If you have any additional questions, please send us an email at info@caregivingyou.org.
